Another ootion would have been to install a BIOS bootloader on my linux boot partition. I had an issue with that (Win7 installed itself in BIOS mode despite having UEFI avallable during installation) and my solution was to simply keep the two OS's on separate drives and switch the boot device in the BIOS settings when I change which one I booted into. Or it might be that one OS wants UEFI and the other wants BIOS. See if there's a setting to turn it off (it might be an option called secure boot or it might require you to boot into legacy or BIOS mode rather than UEFI mode). (also being a bit old school and knowing first hand the woes of TSR's and DOS4GW, despite this being one of the less reliable games I currently play, I would not consider it even remotely *un* reliable.) But for the most part, it's pretty stable. In 1.0, I did have to alt-tab out and kill the process once when it went unresponsive with a black screen. They would usually occur between switching scenes in the game, dumping me to my desktop. In the earlier versions of KSP, I would occasionally get crashes, like maybe once every 10-15 hours or so. After oone platter died, I decided I don't use windows enough to justify the headache of maintaining it, so for about a year and half, it's all mint, all the time. built the thing like 4-5 years ago, originally with less ram, a 550 ti with a flaky micro hdmi port, one ssd + a platter RAID, dual booting windows. I run mint on an i5 2500K system with 16 GB ram, a geforce 750 ti (nvidia drivers, not noveau), two SSDs/no platters, don't remember what mobo. I have a little over 60 hours in Kerbal and I've only ever played it on Linux.
